Catherine Borgia, nominee for Ossining Town Supervisor

Catherine Borgia has a long history of volunteer involvement in many organizations in Ossining, including leadership or committee roles in the PTA, Ossining Communities That Care, Girl Scouts of Ossining, the Rotary Club of Ossining, the Ossining Micro Fund, St. Augustine’s Church, Ossining-Briarcliff Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Ossining School District’s Citizens’ Budget Advisory Committee, Open Door Family Medical Center, Ossining MATTERS, Ossining Children’s Center, Interfaith Council for Action (IFCA) , Ossining Food Pantry, and the Ossining Public Library. In addition she has been active in statewide volunteer and advocacy organizations.

As the host of a public access cable TV show, Ossining News and Views, and the editor of a weekly email newsletter, Ossining This Week, Borgia works to keep Ossining informed about the many events and other happenings in the community.

Catherine Borgia and her husband Craig Johl moved to Ossining in 1991 and live here with their two children, who attend Ossining public schools. "We came to Ossining because of the scenic beauty and deep spirit of community involvement that we saw. We couldn’t imagine a better place to raise our children," she said.

Catherine Borgia worked in Marketing and Public Relations for 15 years. She is currently Chief of Staff for Assemblywoman Sandy Galef. Borgia earned her BA from Binghamton University (SUNY) and an MBA from NYU-Stern School of Business.
